Hatpin holders were commonly kept on dressing tables during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, when decorative hatpins were used to secure women’s hats and were quite long.
Today it would work great as a flower frog or to display dried flowers on top of a vanity or dresser. Or to hold needles and of course, hat pins.
